megumi fushiguro
jujutsu kaisen
The top student among the first years at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Megumi is reserved, serious, and perpetually unamused, but his cool demeanor covers a kind heart. As the inheritor of the Zenin clan's prized Ten Shadows technique, he has an easy path to power and influence in jujutsu society, but he couldn't care less about clan politics. In Megumi's mind, his power has one purpose: to protect the people he cares about, even if it kills him -- and with his somewhat dim view of his own life's value, it very well might.
Megumi is a Japanese boy in his mid-teens, with a build that's slender but toned; he's fit and in good athletic shape even if he's definitely not a powerhouse. He has spiky black hair that's beyond taming, and green eyes (anime portrays them as blue, but I am sticking to manga canon on this, so some icons lie). He has several prominent facial scars: two are on the right side of his face, one of which crosses vertically over his eye, and one runs horizontally beneath his left eye. (A sharp observer will be able to tell from their width and the fact that his right eye is completely undamaged that somewhat unusual circumstances were responsible for creating them.)
Canon The Ten Shadows technique allows Megumi to summon ten different shikigami, using shadows as a medium (and thus requiring no talismans or charms). The variety of powers this puts at his disposal, along with the ability to more generally manipulate shadows, make him a well-rounded opponent who's able to adapt to the changing tides of battle and use the terrain and circumstances to his advantage. His domain expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, lacks a barrier or a guaranteed hit technique, but floods the entire area with his shadow, heightening the power of his technique and letting him use it to its fullest extent.
Somnia As a Shadowbinder, Megumi's powers in Somnia largely mirror his capabilities in his own world, and he's refined his use of them primarily for matters of stealth, containment, and interference. While his shikigami don't appear in the solid forms the Ten Shadows would allow, he's able to create many of the same effects with the shadows directly, and has been able to summon them in an insubstantial form -- although this is a recent development and is still a work in progress.
